* TGA 2002 awards
ceremony took place on sept. 22nd @ the reverb
Congratulations to all of the 2002 Toronto Goth Awards nominees and winners.
update november 17th 2002- pictures from the awards are
now online here.
there are also pictures on each of the individual category pages, but those
have been online for a while.
The awards process was meant to be a fun way of fostering a sense of community
spirit, and to raise awareness for different aspects of the entire community.
The 13,000 votes that were submitted in the 13 categories, as well as turnout
and feedback on Sunday told us that many of you indeed agree that we were
successful in these goals.
Thank you to Greg Beals of Zarr Designs for creating the unique trophies that
each of the award winners received. We highly recommend him to do custom work -
contact him at
zarrrfreak@hotmail.com
Thank you to the following people who donated those lovely door prizes that
several of you were lucky enough to go home with:
To Die For Designs,
Nocturnalia,
Perdition, the
Birthday
Massacre, C(x), the
Divine, Th'Elf, and Seventh Circle.
Thank you to DJ
Antithesis for not only providing a diverse range of music and other wares
for sale, but also for selling cds for all of the bands that played.
Thank you to the tech crew - Nikki, John and Steven for their amazing work.
Thank you to Dom (Reverb) for his support of this event.
Thanks you to the bands - Perdition, the Birthday Massacre, C(x) & the
Divine. All are local Toronto bands that are definately going places. Thank you
to the bands (and in particular Steven from Perdition and Dan from C(X)) for
allowing the awards to be held along with their concert and for organizing the
concert.
Thank you to DJ
bOLT for hosting the evening, handing out the awards, and for everything
else he has done. Thanks to DJ Th'Elf for spinning some really fantastic tunes
during the night. Thanks to Dementia for helping to hand out the awards and
helping with the event organization.
Thank you to Melanpholy and Steven for the artwork and alterations/flash found
on the TGA website, as well as to Steven for the design of the website.
Thank you to Caroline Tippin for the photos of the award winners.
And finally, thank you to everyone who came out on Sunday night. Without your
support of the community and events like this, they cannot survive, thrive and
evolve.
There will be a 2003 Toronto Goth Awards. There will be some changes to the
process next year, and we invite feedback and comments on how you would suggest
things be improved upon. If you have a comment you can fill out a feedback form
here
The winners in each category can be found below. You can click on the picture
