I have a few things to say after reading this article.
. One, I do not know who the 'djjurgensucks' person is whatsoever. I would love
to know since they feel this need to continually slam me and my nights. I do
not appreciate you (Hollowman) supposing that I associate with this person,
know who they are, or 'have their ear'. And to suggest that I am paying them
off with a free ticket to SGtW is beyond reason. You, like them, are just
'making something up'. Maybe you should work as a reporter for 'djjurgensucks'
since you both write in the genre of bullshit. I do admit that I have emailed
them a few times to either defend myself or get their facts correct.
Two, I agree with most of the article. I find the site overtly negative and
irrelevant since Jurgen has retired.
. Three, I find it irresponsible for an article like this to be published on
toronto-goth since it gives the 'djjurgensucks' website further exposure and a
stronger voice. People who have not known about this site will now find out
about it, and those who forgot it existed, will now revisit it. All publicity
is good publicity!

Lazarus. This review is not intended to bash your name any further then the
'web-gurus' already have. I am a huge fan of yours for about 4 years now and I
have always loved your events/nights. It is perplexing that you of all people,
who's been bashed on many occasions, would EVER write anything to that site.
Correcting them or not! You are feeding the fire more then anyone else. I know
who runs the site from their ISP # and a mutual friend. On many occasions I
have seen you talking to them. I am guessing you had no idea? With that in
mind, my suggestion that you had their ear is retracted. But, if not for this
post, many people may have continued believing the same thing that I did. You
send in info/emails, then you are contributing.
In my opinion, the irresponsibility does not lie with Toronto Goth, but with
all the people who have supported that site and even more so, the people who
despise it and say nothing. I thank Toronto Goth for posting my review and I
hope that this one can make it there also. I would like to think that you now
understand and agree Lazarus.

I have proudly registered the name http://www.djvoxsucks.com ... I am the man
behind the mockery of that who is Craig.
Actually, I originally intended to make a site that mocked both Vox (in a
loveable way) and djjurgensucks.com (to show how shallow and pathetic the site
is). Unfortunately, Vox sucked so hard he doesn't spin anywhere anymore!
Ah well. I can take comfort in the fact that I suck too. :)

Hollow Man, what planet are you from?
Lazarus(along with any DJ and any person for that matter) has every right to
defend themselves from slander, whether in real life, or online.
If you know the person behind the site, why are you bitching about it the site
still being there?
I think it's safe to call you a shit disturber. If you care enough to prove
anyone otherwise, get off your ass and make a difference, don't just advertise
for that site.

Well the saga continues. Oh can you believe what djjurgensucks.com said this
week? My response is who cares. If you are that insecure of a person to care
what some one thinks of you then stay in, don't go out and don't socialize
because everyone will have an opinion, good or bad. I have been accused of
being djjurgensucks.com many of times. So to set the record straight am I
he/she? No. Do I post under hidden names for fear of my opinions? No. Do I
think Jurgen's dj skills suck? Yes. He may once have been a driving force in
the scene but unfortunately he fell behind. At one point in time you could go
to Jurgen's night and be able to hear songs that were groundbreaking and new.
That was when he was great, but now he is no longer. Maybe he realised he could
not keep up or his interest in the new music has dwindled, either way he took a
place in a public position and there for is open to critics opinions like
myself, Lazarus,Vox,XXX,Clockwork,Trauma, etc... Oh and Todd( sorry Todd). So
"Hollowman" whoever you may be as you too seem to be hiding for
whatever reason and posting your own lies and hatred coments for the public to
read. Get a life. The only thing that is killing the scene is the people
involved in it. Not letting it grow. At one point when the scene was growing
the patrons were open to hearing new music and did not care what title it had.
Now it's Synthpop or nothing. Noise or nothing, Psytrance or nothing. All I
have to say is if its got a beat I like I am there. Do you think the bands we
listen to only listen to bands like themselves? Not bloodylikely or songs like
Kathys song wouldn't sound likea trance track with vocals. So my e-mail is
posted for all to respond if you feel the need to. If you do not agree with me
thats your choice. If you want to talk to me about it I am almost always out
and you can talk to me. Long live every ones right to have there own opinion
and speak it. At least the ones brave enough to say who they really
are.

I actually find Jurgensucks.com rather funny and accurate. In my eyes the
reason that the site has so much negative content about the scene is because
there IS so much negative content about the scene. Im so done with most of the
nights in TO. You guys should check out 'The Home' in Hamilton. Rotating Dj's
that play cool tunes...frankly I think its better then Velvet.
The views of the jurgens sucks individual are far from their own. Everyone
knows that the scene blows mythical goat creatures..lets just hope that this
festivel helps it out a bit.

Blah, blah blah. I feel pretty pathetic having wasted my time reading all this
crap. Who gives a fuck?! I mean, come on. Eveyone has a opinion. Most opinions
are stupid. Therefore, we can logically assume that it's going to be difficult
to get anyone to agree on anything. Right? Right. Just stop all the whining and
pissing in corners that we ALL should have grown out of in preschool. If you
hate the content of a site so much, why torture yourself? Oh, yeah; I forgot.
It's that whole masochistic thing, right? But seriously, hasn't this
pretentious goth thing gone far enough? The scene only starts to die when
everyone starts to take themselves too seriously. Well, guess what? Just
because you disagree with someone it doesn't make them any more wrong or you

For the record, I'm not the one behind jurgensucks.com ... The whole thing
smacks of jealousy and lack of a life. That and a small penis apparently.
Nevertheless, everyone should just grow up and ignore the site, or simply see
it for what it is.
So in closing. Vox sucks, Lazarus sucks, Phink sucks, Lord Pale sucks, Bolt
sucks, Human Clone sucks, Trauma sucks... and I certainly do!

DJ Jurgen?
Jesus, that brings back memories. Not good or bad, just...enh.
The goth scene has really changed. If Jurgen kept up continuity with what he
used to play I can see him irritating a lot of people, especially since he
started after industrial really hit it big and generally didn't (if my foggy
memory serves me) play much paleo-goth. Nowadays they spin that (for
psespective) and Darkrave or darkrave-ish stuff, leaving Jurgen a bit out in
the cold.
Jurgen struck me as neither old nor new school, kinda...middle school. Nothing
wrong with that. Sometimes it's just the right speed for me -- but I don't
think my tastes are popular ones.
Then again, I haven't regularly clubbed in Toronto in 6 years, so there's an
excellent chance I'm full of shit.

After having read the comments and opinions which everyone has so kindly
contributed regarding jurgensucks, I find myself with a lot to think aobut. I
can see validity in every response to the article by Hollowman. But I have but
one question... Does anyone not realise that whoever is behind the jurgensucks
website is a very unhappy person. I'm sure that there are people that we all
dislike in our lives, but how many of us go out and dedicate and maintain a
site to that person.
For whatever reason, the person behind the site hates jurgen, I'm afraid that
they do not realise that ultimatley Jurgen has won. He controls that person to
the point of near obsession. Like I said, we all have people in our lives that
we do not like. Some of us let the pain go and move on, others hold on to their
pain and hatred, which only serves to consume who you are and leave you but an
empty shell.

batgirl - if you feel that Jurgen has power over ms. djjurgensucks.com, well,
it's her choice to allow him to have that power. She has chosen to give in to
obsession. She could also stop it at any time by choosing to either get help or
get out of it altogether. Perhaps that's her weakness, that she lays too much
blame on others and chooses not to take action to fix it herself.
Quite frankly, I do follow djjurgensucks.com. It's my comic relief of the day.
I don't condone laughing at the expense of others, but I see the webmistress
consistantly making a fool out of herself again and again. I honestly get a
giggle out of all the nasty comments she seems to have about everyone and
everything in the scene. She claims to be "all-knowing" on the
goth/industrial subculture, yet hates everything about it except darkrave and,
unfortunately, darkrave does not constitute the entire goth scene. There are
simply more facets to it. She also can't seem to get her facts straight (for
someone who knows "everything" about the scene) for example, the
entire issue with Velvet closing for a week for "renovations"...come
on, everyone knows they had their liquor lisense suspended. But she doesn't
seem to have a clue yet. So I don't take her seriously, I can't take her
seriously. She flails at some sort of validity by bashing a scene that she
calls her own and, honestly, I think she's a very pathetic person for it. If
she doesn't like what's going on around her, then she can either a) avoid it,
or b) get active and do something about it, rather than point fingers and call
names like a bullied schoolgirl.
Despite all this, I'm drawn to her site. It's like a bad car accident that I
can't take my eyes off of: it's hideous and ugly and disturbing in every way,
yet I'm mesmerized by it.
I think anyone who takes her and her site seriously and base their self-esteem
on her pointless comments has issues. Simple as that.

Well.. as someone nearly as jaded with the scene (from a clubber as opposed to
a dj point of view) i check out djjurgensucks.com on a regualr basis (atleast
once a week) why? because there are so many people who kiss ass and hang off
many dj's (if you don't have groupies you REALLY suck)plus.. s/he is DAMN
funny! jurgen became as bad as dave (i love the dj night killer monicker.. so
TRUE!) and the fact that he retired does not mean dick in reference to whether
s/he hates him..and should stop bashing him.. hell i stopped clubbing thursday
nights because him (and multiple sclerosis..but lets focus on him lol)... have
any of you noticed that %90 of the posts in this "thread" are dj's or
people who haven't clubbed in a LONG time (not to mention one or two said
"groupies") the other thing is you notice the only dj who ever gets
nothing but praise is greg? (because he is one of the few dj's more important
than what he plays.. why? because he plays what the people will love..even if
they THINK they want to hear something else) aside from greg s/he willingly
praises someone she doesn't like personally on a good night.. and tears apart
those she likes on a bad one......... enough said

well for once i'm laughing my ass off!!!!!
that website has had a lot of people talking for a while. mostly wondering who
the whinny little bastard is. He has taken shots at everyone in the scene -
most of them personal, nothing to do with D.J.'ing skills. Which i believe is
what everyone found so offensive,
the site is totally made up...i hit it one night at 10pm to see the review for
that night already on the page!
my point being, that to see everyone here making it a joke is awsome....if we
can't laugh at ourselves RIGHT?
All the d.j's: keep it up....if you have a bad night so what? you're doing a
lot more than anyone else in town to keep us miserables entertained!
