although i arrived on time, (and stood in line for 40 minutes), i walked in to the opera house around 10pm.
where i became quite aware of the fact that - hey, there was another band (lamb of god...?) that i apparently missed, entirely. "the haunted" were on stage (suprisingly enough, they were much better that cannibal courpse) but i couldn't really enjoy it, at the fact there were at least 5 people crowd surfing (in the same time) and (hehe) magickally getting in touch with the floor once they've reached me (sorry guys, i had to support the weight of my own overwhelming desire to get close to the stage). the mash pit was violence at its' best (and yet one more reason to proudly exhibit my enormous collection of bruises from that night). and in a few (45) minutes i was at the very front.
shugrath was exellent. they performed some of the old stuff (ahmm..2 songs) and while choking on the smoke i could soon hear the songs from the new album.. oh, and it was so good. i could certainly see the old man's child influence (thanks to the newest band member) not to mention, feel that after all, it was all worth it. truly, it was one of the best metal performances i have ever seen, hell, it even made me scream ( in contrast to the fact that the rest of the gothic females were standing in the back, slightly nodding their heads). everything fit together so very perfectly, but unfortunately, it was far too short, and it seemed that almost momentarily i (soaked with sweat, swollen with pride) squeezed my way out of there and to the street, completely ( well, almost) ignoring cannibal courpse and whatever they had to say, or rather, scream.
in conclusion,
it was a show most worthy of seeing. and if you ever get an opportunity to see them, please do make the effort, it would really pay off.
