The Old Farmers Almanac 2000: Book of Timeless Truths for the Millennium by Tim Clark and Editors of the Old Farmer's Almanac

Ever pondered about why holidays are on certain dates? Did you know that there's a tricky method for fixing shoes that pinch? Were you aware that without lightning, we would not live?

All these interesting facts and figures are entrapped in this almanac. Aside from the fact that one may acquire such abysmal knowledge, it is quite amusing to understand the history behind trivial facts.

If you suffer from runny noses and like to imbibe, you'll never contend to this - alcohol can come to your rescue: "Alcohol has been found to dilate small blood vessels in the skin ad help reestablish circulation in the mucous membranes of the nose, along with raising the temperature of those membranes to help neutralize viruses. It also produces a feeling of comfort and drowsiness."

This is NOT to encourage inebration and you'll have to rummage through this book to find out if there is a remedy for hangovers!

If you have a thirst for knowledge, dig your fangs into these fascinating abundance of information.

Rated: 5/5 pentacles
