Perdition and Eliminate The Body with DJ Barbi
Fashion show by Ikaris Gothic

Perdition - www.perdition.com
Perdition creates an emotional response in their listeners with a refreshing mix of goth, metal and a touch of industrial. This Toronto, Canada band formed in early 1997 as a collaboration between Steven (formerly of Die Screaming & Head Trauma) and Thor (Bunchofuckingoofs and Armed and Hammered fame). Perditon's appropriate public launch was on Hallowe'en of that year, and was met with rave reviews for their haunting sounds, beautiful melodies, and commanding stage presence. With 1998 came their first CD and EP, "With Bitter Waves of Hope" and "Luci." Both received play on CIUT radio as well as in several clubs.

The full length album 'Nothing Else Remains', featuring new songs, an old favourite 'Luci' and remixes by various artists, was released in February 2002. The release party also represented the bands return to live performance. The anticipation of the large crowd who came out for their return was fulfilled; Perdition's powerful visuals, dark lyrics and sound received enthusiastic reviews.

In 2002, Perdition played in Kitchener, ON, and twice at the Reverb in Toronto. The Toronto community voted on the winners for the 2002 Toronto Goth Awards, and Perdition received awards for Favourite Band and Song. Perdition also headlined the awards ceremony, and released the CD "Waters of Oblivion" (featuring the award winning Godlust) on that night.

In the first six months of 2003, Perdition hit the stage in Toronto four times. As well, they also travelled to London, ON and Montreal, QC, to give out of town audiences a taste of their music.

The lineup of Perdition is: Amanda (secondary vocals, guitar), Chris (vocals), Ian (guitar), Monika (keyboards, vocals), Monique (vocals), Steven (guitar) and Thor (bass). Together, they bring real gothic music back to the stage and stereo, with a smooth mix of masterful electronic programming, and aggressive guitars. The lyrics and overall sound tell a story with musical and emotional intensity.

Eliminate The Body - www.eliminatethebody.com
From the desolate and nearly abandoned industrial scene of London, Ontario, a few die-hard believers in the music that drives, grinds and thuds banded together to form the clanky industrial metal machine that is “Eliminate the Body”. From the horrifying and vivid characters created by the members of the band, to the startling, abrupt, and epileptic light show, to the serious musical cacophony that is created when these four determined nightmares take the stage together, Eliminate the Body is NOT to be taken lightly.

Eliminate the Body has taken to the studio has recently put the finishing touches on its first commercial album under the guidance of upcoming producer Chris Moon. (13th Cross, Off the Mark) A sample of the mayhem to be unleashed has already been released in an extremely limited format, and has met nothing but rave reviews from those who have been privileged enough to subject themselves to the intellectual torture.

A disease has been growing in the hearts of the die-hard fans that religiously take part in the sub-culture of Eliminate the Body. A sickened anxiety has begun to bread itself in the souls of its fan base, proven by selling-out the Transit Hall in Hamilton, and becoming regulars on the “Perversion” bill at Gravity in London. The plague is nearly upon us, and Eliminate the Body are the fateful harbingers of the maelstrom that will engulf and re-ignite the industrial metal scene in all of North America.

DJ Barbi
New Scream is proud to welcome it's first female DJ to the event. DJ Barbi current has nights at both The Bovine Sex Club and The Matrixx, and has been DJing in Toronto for many years. More info coming soon.

Ikaris Gothic - http://ikaris.toronto-goth.com
Ikaris Gothic is simply a figment of imagination brought to life. Dark pleasures rest inside everyone, whether it be as full fledged as the desire of bondage and S & M, or as small as just wanting to look 'dark' when going out. The sexy feeling of wearing smooth fitting leather or PVC garments, be it a tight corset or a pair of hot pants, or even a simple skirt or pair of pants. Or perhaps it is the soft feel of velvet against the skin, in a Victorian style dress, or a little tank top for clubbing. All of these feelings come from the inner urge to rebel against 'normal' social standards of clothing. Garments created from Ikaris Gothic express just that, and are spawned from the designers' own dark imagination, inspired from the surroundings of gothic hangouts and 'freakish' people within the environment he has immersed himself in. The heavy sounds of rock and the loud beats of industrial music help create both the mood for the clothing and the inspiration to create these addictive items. The designer of Ikaris Gothic simply brings to life that of his dark imagination, and creates tools for the public to bring life to theirs.
