02.07.03 : The Morning After
A promoter is always a little bit nervous about the launch of a new night, and the first New Scream was no exception. With months of planning and thought gone into the event, we had hoped for an okay turnout and for people to have some fun. These expectations were met and surpassed. DJ Karnage, always the professional, kept the crowds dancing with his skillful sets and mixing. Sylvania's performance was a touch short, but definately left you wanting more. People converged toward the stage for Sylvania's energetic and fun show. Visually and musically they were top of the line. Sound reinforcement was provided by Ian Cox from Set to Stun Music with assistance from Steven who also did the stage lights. It was fun doing door so I got to meet everyone who came in, especially some of the contest winners from Toronto-Goth. Big thank you's also go out to Paul and the Savage Garden staff, to Nighthawk, Dark Dancer and Graywand for their help with the door and photos, and of course to everyone else who attended the evening.
We look forward to next month with the Divine which should prove to be just as anjoyable as last night, if not more.

Sylvania
SYLVANIA remains firmly rooted in a contemporary electro-punk landscape, appearing like a communist Four-piece in a Ridley Scott film. Sylvania is comprised of Four members. Daniel and Mark worked together on other musical projects prior to Sylvania, such as the Furies and The Millionaires. Swain, Guitarist, is the "enfant terrible" of Canada's post-punk/glam scene. A founding member of the band 'Tuuli', she later helped form Sylvania to explore similar interests. Conan, Keyboardist, was recruited into Sylvania not only for his talents, but because he looks so damn good in a uniform.
