Quick chat help
The chatroom has been updated on dec. 21/ 00
some room colour changes, optional text colours completely redone, more stable, has an away feature now and a few other little changes

please note: the chatroom will often be empty (as people generally don't like entering one alone) but if you enter it and wait for a while, then people will see someone is in there and come and join you. You can always do other things on your computer while you are waiting, and check back frequently. You can also use the "away" function so people don't think you are asleep or drunk.

Register: click on register new nick in the popup window and fill out the information. Be sure to put a valid email address in case you lose your password as this is the only way you can retrieve it.

Use:
To send a public message, type the message in the text box and hit "Post". If you don't type a message it will refresh the chat area. To send a private message to a specific user, select that users name from the drop-down menu beside the post button. Only the specified user will see your message. This will reset after you send your private post.

Special features:
/help - will display the following commands
/me - action (eg "/me says hello" will appear as "* user says hello")
/userinfo nick - userinfo about any user
/memo nick message - leave message for offline user
/msg nickname message - send private message to nickname
/away message - set or unset away status and post message

Click on the options button at the bottom of the window to change the rate of updates in the chat, your password, font colour and other stuff.

You can also create a chat profile for other people to see by pressing profile on the bottom of the chat window.

The names of users that are currently in the chatroom with you will are shown on the right of the window, and clicking on a users name will bring up their tgchat profile.

Lost your password? enter your username and leave the password empty, and you can have it emailed to you.
