| Formed in
early 2001, UNITUS was largely a reaction to an 'industrial music scene' which
was becoming increasingly dominated by reborn synth-pop. Combining the jagged
edges, and aggressive rhythms of earlier projects (cYlindErhEd, and black
h3ll1k0pt3r), UNITUS delivers an industrial tour de force with it's
grinding samples and unrelenting guitar tracks. Less a civil offering than a
violent lash out, UNITUS was born almost purely of emotion. Anger, Frustration,
Despair, and Hope, lie in every darkened corner of this project.
Following the recording of
UNITUS' demo in May of 2001, the project was submitted to DTRASH Records.
DTRASH was enthusiastic about what they heard and quickly offered UNITUS a
place amongst it's roster of artists. DTRASH has long been recognized as a
leader in the extreme digital noise and digital hardcore musical genres,
consistently pushing (and often obliterating) the limits of these genres with
new releases from it's many artists. While UNITUS may not easily fall in under
the digital hardcore standard so closely associated with DTRASH, UNITUS
neatly finds it's place in the DTRASH philosophy, and expands the DTRASH
arsenal with a new aggression.
