Considered to be the world's finest purveyor of Gothic and dark
romantic wares, Siren was opened in March of 1988 by Groovella Blak of Toronto.

Located at 463 Queen
St. W. in the trendy Queen West district, Siren was a staple in Toronto's
gothic scene, and was known far and wide.
During the week of July 11th
2005, Siren had a sale. This was not unusual, as they had several sales per
year.
But this one was unusual, most people just didn't know it. For,
on Sunday July 17th 2005, Siren closed its doors for the last time.
At
the time of the posting of this news item on July 19th we had not had any
"official" information regarding this. For clarification and the sake of
accuracy, an email was sent off to Groovella, which was quickly responded to.
She tell us that Siren will re-open in three weeks under a new name, but
with a very similar feel to that of Siren. The new store will be under the very
capable hands of Sarah, a former staff member of Siren.
We'll be
posting the details of this new store when we get them.
Stay tuned to

I wish Groovella in
particular, as well as the rest of the staff of Siren, all the best in their
future endeavours.
