We have recently been hearing
about many instances were clubgoers in Toronto have had a drug slipped into
their drinks without their knowledge or consent. The victims often have no
memory of the resulting sexual assaults or are unable to prevent them. This is
a completely inexcusable and is a crime.
We would like to warn all women
(and men) to be extra vigilant about watching their drinks and not leaving them
unattended. Do not accept drinks from strangers, or people that you do not
trust completely. If you are feeling strange or intoxicated without having
consumed much alcohol, seek immediate help. Watch out for your friends and
acquaintances, and assist them if they may have been drugged.
