Special Cats Need Homes Now More Than Ever!
Foreword: I know there are a lot of cat lovers who visit the site, so I just wanted to spread the word about this. dem

Many cats on the Abbey Cats site are still residing in a rural shelter awaiting placement in an Abbey Cats foster or permanent home. For cats who are not young, fit and well socialized this can mean a long wait. The viability of this rural shelter is in jeopardy and if homes cannot be found over the next few weeks the best these cats can hope for is life on a farm where they will struggle and likely perish since they are no longer accustomed to an outdoor environment and require a healthy diet to thrive.

In a desperate bid to save these cats from being turned outside to fend for themselves, we are waiving the normal Abbey Cat Adoption fee in lieu of a donation of the adopter's choosing. Each cat has been spayed or neutered and the normal screening process still applies. The adoption fee waiver only applies to cats designated as special needs since the rest of the cats on the site are in the direct care of Abbey Cats and are not dependent on another shelter for survival.
