Aural-Optic Launch Party

On Friday, October 11th, 2002, AURAL-OPTIC Productions is opening their doors to the public. To celebrate their launch, AURAL-OPTIC Productions is having a Launch Party at the 360 (326 Queen St. W.) which will incorporate many aspects of the arts which they will be involved with.

AURAL-OPTIC will be showing independent shorts from recent graduates of the Toronto Film School as well as live performances by such artists as Sex Without Souls, Citizen Kill, Constable Brennan and Dynomight. Dynomight’s video “Shot in the Head” will also premiere that evening, keeping in context with the feel of a ‘launch party’.

In between live performances, local film-maker and club dj “Dj Lazarus” will spin an intense range of music for participants of the evening. Also throughout the course of the evening, “AURAL-OPTIC GIRLS” will be wandering around handing out ‘grab bags’ with general swag as well as information on AURAL-OPTIC and other artists involved in the evening. The girls will be in full body paint, brushed by Michael McMaster whom has had his artwork displayed in many local films and his artful body painting has been seen at Toronto’s “Everything to do with Sex Show”.

The evening will be an extravaganza of entertainment, prize giveaways, fire breathing, short films, and information in the form of Label Booths and Fanzine Booths.

The marks the beginning of AURAL-OPTIC Productions as a company that is devoted to the Independent Artist. AURAL-OPTIC will be focusing its energies assisting independent producers, directors, writers and musicians in acquiring funds needed to realize their concepts for projects, be it documentary, short, feature film, pilot or music video.

From there, AURAL-OPTIC Productions has production teams and designers, camera and set crews, video editors / music engineers to assist the Independent Artists from the beginning to the end of their project.

AURAL-OPTIC Productions also have the ability to help the Independent Artist in marketing their final product, as well as produce it in a variety of mediums including SVHS, DVD, DV, BETA and film. For promotional purposes, AURAL-OPTIC can also build and host websites, produce press kits / posters / flyers, as well as master and mass produce CD’s, both audio and multi-format, as well as DVD Authoring.

AURAL-OPTIC Productions feels that there is a real need for this in the city of Toronto since Toronto has such a wealth of talented artists of all styles, coupled by the fact that Toronto itself is one of the largest cities for filming in Canada.
