Temptation Thursdays @ Temple Bar

DJ Lazarus has recently launched a new night @ Temple Bar called Temptation Thursdays. January 3rd was the sneak peak, and January 10th will be the grand opening. Your feedback on this night is appreciated.

From DJ Lazarus:

Last night was the sneak peek of 'Temptation Thursdays' @ temple bar. I wish to thank the over 125 people who came by to check out the bar. The night went over very well and the manager was really impressed, as was I. Next week will be the grand opening (Jan 10) and a few issues should be resolved by then. I now wish to ask for 'constructive criticism' of the night.

How was the space itself? Layout, ambient lighting, seating, bathrooms, etc.

How was the music? Is the format appropriate for this night? I am going for a less aggressive, yet slightly more progressive feel. Lots of new music with a decent mix of recognizable tracks. Since this night is not all about the dancing, it allows a sense of musical freedom to play stuff you may not hear on regular nights.

Sound system? Great, Average, Shit. What would make it better? I did notice temple has more bass downstairs since there is a bass bin under the stairs. Upstairs is quieter but allows conversations.

Dance area? It is meant to be in front of the DJ booth, but people were dancing by the front bar. Should this be the dance floor instead or should I put couches down there and make a larger dance floor by the booth upstairs?

DJ Lighting? This is currently completely lacking. I will hopefully be installing a mini intelligent lighting system by next Thursday if time permits (it takes a while to install and program). These lights will define where to dance and make the space seem more alive.

Artwork? This was also completely lacking and should be rectified by next week or so. We will be installing some cool artistic photographs around the bar area.

Drink prices? I know they are over priced and am talking to the bar to lower the prices across the board and have a featured drink each week that will be cheaper. I will let the list know what the results of these talks are as soon as they are finalized.

If some of the wrinkles are worked out over the next few weeks could this become a viable option for a Thursday?

Thanks for any input.

Lazarus
