| Design Contest for 'Synthpop Goes the World'
|
DJ Lazarus writes:
I usually design all my own posters and flyers with my own art work, or
artwork carefully selected from other sources (stolen from the
internet). This time it is your turn.
I know that there are a lot of creative people on this list and I offer
this contest to those who always wanted to see their stuff in print.
Next summer will be the 'Synthpop Goes the World' music festival.
I am looking for someone to design a logo that will be used on the
webpage, t-shirts, tickets, and other media. The logo can just be a
graphic or incorporate the name. I will not dictate the colour chemes or
content. Please just be creative!! If your work is selected we can tweak
the design and colours together. Please note: Keep all your work in
layers so they can be adjusted if need be. All art work must be original
design for this one. NO STOLEN GRAPHICS!!
All art work should be done at 300 DPI (dots per inch) in RGB.
Eventually, it will be converted to CMYK, but all originals must remain
in RGB. A good size to work with 4 inches x 6 inches. It can be designed
in any software you wish but must be able to opened with Adobe Photoshop
or Illustrator.
Hints to get those juices flowing. Keep in mind this is an electronic
music festival. Think computers, retro synths, the world exploding, MIDI
devices, circuit boards, the future in a retro way (think 1950's design
of the future) or even 1980's album art. It can be 2D or 3D. It can be a
clean look or a grunge look. Just use your sense of humour and design in
equal amounts.
Now you ask, 'Why should I waste my time designing Lazarus a logo?"
For the person who designs the coolest logo I will grant them a free 4
day festival pass (worth around $225) plus a t-shirt with their design.
You also get the incredible satisfaction of seeing your design plastered
all over the city!
The contest deadline is September 14 2001. This should give plenty of
time for even the procrastinators.
All files can be submitted to me via email by initally sending me a JPG
of your design. If your design is one the finalists I will then need it
submitted to me on either CD-ROM or zip disk.
All compressed files can be sent to lazarus@djlazarus.com
Break out your crayons and start designing.
